The Lucille Raines Residence is seeking a new Executive Director.

Are you a compassionate leader with a heart for recovery support and community? Lucille Raines Residence seeks an Executive Director to guide our faith-centered ministry in transforming lives.

The Lucille Raines Residence is a non-for-profit ministry in Indianapolis, Indiana, that seeks to cultivate hope in a faith-filled, supportive community by providing an environment where individuals with substance use disorders can rebuild their lives. The residence is a place where individuals, who have successfully completed treatment and half-way house programs, can secure residency while rebuilding their lives in the community and with family. This ministry is owned and operated by the United Women in Faith of Indiana which is an agency of The United Methodist Church. The ministry has provided housing for people since 1977. 

The duties of the Executive Director include the day-to-day management of the ministry including the supervision of staff and fiduciary responsibility, the oversight of the maintenance and care of the facility, fundraising and marketing, and work in collaboration with the Board of Directors to guide the ministry and strategically plan for the future. 

We are seeking a person of faith with strategic leadership skills and experience in a non-profit ministry who demonstrates compassion, vision, and empathy supportive of the LRR mission to cultivate hope.

Executive Director

The Executive Director of Lucille Raines Residence will lead our organization in fulfilling our mission:
to cultivate hope in a faith-filled, supportive community where individuals committed to recovery from substance use disorders can rebuild their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Innovation:

  • Responsible for the ethical operation of Lucille Raines Residence (LRR) in alignment
    with our mission and values
  • Act as the primary ambassador for LRR.
  • Guide strategic innovation and growth collaborating with the Board of Directors.

Management:

  • Run the day-to-day operations of LRR

  • Responsible for support staff— role development, hiring, supervising

    • Program Coordinator is hired by the Board, and works under the supervision of the Executive Director

  • Responsible for tracking income and paying operational expenses, providing monthly financial reports to the board

  • Ensure financial health and compliance through effective budgeting and resource management.

  • Oversee the development and execution of program plans that align with our mission.

  • Manage the housekeeping and upkeep of LRR giving monthly updates to the board.

Fundraising & Marketing:

  • Work with the board fund raising committee to ensure effective fundraising and
    marketing plans are in place, supporting long-term stability.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with key donors and partners.
  • Serve as the main spokesperson for LRR, along with district representatives on the board, to churches and United Women in Faith units around the state.
  • Welcome groups to LRR for a Talk, Tour, and Luncheon.
  • Receive and acknowledge all donations in a timely manner, keeping detailed records of all donor information.

Board Collaboration & Development:

  • Develop strong relationships with the Board to facilitate open communication, and strategic planning
  • Partner with the Board to recruit a diverse group of engaged board members.
  • Serve as the primary staff liaison for the Board and its committees.

Qualifications:

  • A person of faith who demonstrates compassion, vision, and empathy supportive of the LRR mission to cultivate hope.
  • Previous experience with non-profit leadership
  • Experience in fundraising
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and business skills
  • Relevant college degree
  • Preferred experience with substance use disorders recovery programs, or transitional housing
  • Preferred knowledgeable of the structure of the United Women in Faith and The United Methodist Church.
